Hi, I'm Peter!

I'm a third-year PhD student in Economics at JKU Linz, Austria. My research lies at the intersection of international trade, spatial economics, and commodity markets. I study how place-based shocks—such as regional price fluctuations, policy reforms, or climate-related production shifts—affect agricultural production, regional inequality, and the behavior of firms and farms.

I combine large-scale datasets—including satellite imagery, census records, and official statistics—with advanced statistical programming and data visualization. My current research uses remote sensing data to examine agricultural production dynamics in Europe and the U.S., aiming to better understand how farmers respond to localized shocks. More broadly, I'm interested in how spatial and economic networks mediate the effects of shocks and shape strategic interactions across regions and sectors.

Outside of academia, I'm a trail running enthusiast and have recently discovered a love for ultrarunning. Whether it's data or distance, I enjoy pushing limits and exploring new terrain.
